This is the kayaking course to take if you want to take a further step toward independence in your paddling. Maybe you’d like to head out and enjoy longer tours in the archipelago, or maybe you’d just like to develop your technique in order to feel more secure on the water. This course is designed to follow the beginner’s course. You should have taken a beginner’s course prior to taking our advanced course.
The course is divided into 4 sessions of 2-3 hours each to give you plenty of time to practice your new skills in order to develop your paddling in the best way.
The course includes one month of our subscription service Melker Move, it gives you free access to a kayak that you can use to pratice your skills between the sessions. Read more about Melker Move here !
In our advanced course, you learn everything you need to know to take a green paddle pass in the European Paddle Pass system. We also add a few points that we think are important so that you can become as secure a paddler as possible! Examination can be done with us after the course and is booked separetly.
1 night a week for 4 weeks.
During the months of May and September, we run some slightly more intensive courses with 2 sessions per week for two weeks.
(Bookings are made on the date of course start and apply to all course dates.)
See more details about the times and dates for the sessions under the information section on your specific course, above.
After completing the course, you have enough knowledge to make your own tours through the archipelago.
We go over the course plan, get to know each other and the equipment, and then go out on the water and run a proper technique session.
Time for a swim! We will look at peer rescue and self rescue while also working on feeling secure in the kayaks and testing the limits of our balance.
We start by having a look at safety equipment to bring with you on a tour. Then, we’ll get out on the water to practice our techniques and try various kinds of towing.
Time to rehearse and deepen our skills. We aim for a slightly longer tour, focusing on practicing what we have learned and having an opportunity to practice a bit further on specific things, as per your wishes.
